Fun and Fundraiser 2018

Please join us the evening of Sunday, May 6, 2018 for Temple Sholom’s annual fund, and more importantly, fun, raiser.

Come ready for an evening not only of entertainment, but also our annual recognition of the “world repairing dreams” of Vancouver’s Jewish youth. They are inspired in their dreams and we are inspired by them. For that reason, we are calling our evening “INSPIRED TO ACT”.

You will be entertained by and laugh along with YidLife Crisis. They are the duo of Jamie Elman and Eli Batalion who hail proudly from Montreal. They will appeal to all ages. Their shows provide an egalitarian approach that accepts all forms of Jewry and reaches out to the non-Jewish world as well, YidLive! An evening with YidLife Crisis revitalizes the discussion of Jewish identity through a night of comedy and creativity. Their welcoming of all views is of course consistent with Temple Sholom’s values of inclusiveness and connection to our Jewish identity.

Also in the keeping with our values we are pleased to be presenting the 2nd annual Temple Sholom Tikkun Olam Youth Award to two deserving recipients. The award is generously sponsored by the Neil and Michelle Pollock Family Foundation:

  • A “Dreamers” award of $1800 will go to a visionary, someone who has created a business, or a movement, or who has mobilized a group to heal or change the world.
  • A “Builders” award of $270 will go to a volunteer on the front line, at the grass roots level, e.g. helping at the Food Bank, or on the DTES, or through another organization.

May 6, 2108 will be a wonderful night of fun and fundraising at Performance Works on Granville Island. We would love see you there.
