Healing Centre
The Temple Sholom Centre for the Healing of the Soul provides resources and support for individuals within our congregational family who are in physical, emotional or spiritual need.
THE LIBRARY
At the heart of the Healing Centre is a library which includes books about Jewish prayer and tradition, as well as practical information regarding marriage, family dynamics, divorce, illness, medical treatments, pain therapy, meditation, nutrition, exercise, death and grief.
Conducted each year during Yom Kippur afternoon, the inspiring Service for the Healing of the Soul combines prayer, contemplative music and guided imagery meditation to help congregants develop a sense of wholeness, strength and inner peace during times of "dis-ease."
THE MI SHEBEIRACH PRAYER
Prayer and community are important contributors to the healing process. At Temple Sholom, Mi Shebeirachs (traditional prayers of healing) are regularly recited at minyans and Shabbat services on behalf of individuals in need. Mi Shebeirach recipients are also sent a beautiful card which serves as a tangible reminder that they are being held in the thoughts of others.

THE CHEVRAH TEFILAH
Over 50 caring congregants have joined together to create the Chevrah Tefilah (prayer circle). Every day, from their homes, members of the Chevrah Tefilah recite prayers of healing for individuals within our Temple family who are experiencing a health crisis or other severe life challenge. If you wish to add a name to the prayer list or are interested in participating in the Chevrah Tefilah, please email the Healing Centre director, Cathy Netter Bregman.
SHABBAS IN A BAG
This unique, hand-delivered package of challah buns, grape juice, plastic goblets and battery-operated candles is a meaningful way to bring the holiness and peace of Shabbat to hospitalized congregants.
THE TEMPLE WEBCAST
Individuals who are housebound or in the hospital are now able to participate in Temple Sholom worship services through their computers. For information about how to access our simultaneous webcast of Shabbat and holiday services, please contact the Temple office.
