Enjoy a kid-friendly catered meal, followed by
a festive musical service.

You must RSVP if you would like to attend the dinner, no later than Monday, February 6 to reserve your spots.

Chutzpah 2012
Please join Temple Sholom's Adult Education Committee for the world premiere of the musical and theatrical adaptation of Joseph Skibell's masterpiece novel, A Blessing on the Moon-The Colour of Poison Berries. This mythical story is a haunting evocation of the Polish Holocaust experience and a journey towards peace and wisdom.
Mary-Louise Albert, a Temple Sholom member, and the artistic managing director of Chutzpah will speak to our group after the performance about the history of the Chutzpah Festival.
Tickets are $16 for groups of 10 or more. Please RSVP and pay to Temple Sholom by February 8 in order for tickets to be reserved. Hope to see you there!

A discussion about environmental concerns in the world and our community in Vancouver will include

6:30 to 7:15pm: Everyone
7:15 to 8:45pm: Optional Movie
Come to Temple Sholom dressed in your PJS, ready for a simple & beautiful Havdallah ceremony followed by cookies, hot chocolate and story time.
Our Havdallah program will run from 6:30 to 7:15pm for younger kids. Older kids are encouraged to stay afterwards for a fun movie. The movie will end around 8:45pm

Purim - Superheroes at Superstore
5:30: Pizza Dinner
6:00: Megillah Reading 
7:15: Shop-a-Thon at Superstore on Marine Drive
Dress up as a superhero and join us at Temple Sholom for a Pizza Dinner, the Megillah reading and Hamentashen. Then we'll head to Superstore for a Shop-a-Thon. Shop till you drop for the Jewish Foodbank. Join us for a giant scavender hunt around Superstore as we shop for all the food that the Jewish Foodbank needs. Be the first family to collect all the food and race across the finish line (checkout stand) to win. This will be a really fun, family oriented, tikkun olam event.
Don't miss it! 
Suggested donation of $36 a family to help cover the cost of dinner and the Shop-a-Thon

"Far Side of the Sky" by Daniel Kalla
The Far Side of the Sky focuses on a short but extraordinary period of Chinese, Japanese and Jewish Second World War history, where cultures converged and heroic sacrifices were part of the everyday quest for survival.
Everyone is invited to hear Vancouver author Daniel Kalla speak about his book at this special event.
This evening is sponsored by Temple Sholom Sisterhood and the National Council of Jewish Women, Vancouver Section.
